Straight-Line Quilting for my New Baby Blocks Quilt!

Hi Reader,

Today's quilting tutorial video is a straight-line quilting lesson to finish my newest Baby Blocks Quilt Pattern. The easy techniques I use to keep those lines as straight as possible are definitely included. But don't look to me for perfection! I'm always happy with FINISHED! Take a look and you'll see that the minor stitching issues we have are hardly noticeable.

Plus if you watch to the end, you'll see how the binding is attached using a decorative stitch. Plus you'll get to watch how I deal with a shortage of binding! I totally miscalculated!! It's a reminder that we need to be flexible. Always use what we have as opposed to going shopping. And enjoy the excitement of a finished quilt!

Now I can ship both these beautiful quilts to my sister. Her new granddaughter is just weeks away!

The three different size blocks mixed together create a great visual design. This is a very fast quilt made even quicker with layer cakes. Though you can use whatever you have on hand and just cut it to size. This quilt is made with only half of the Cottage Grove Layer Cake and is perfect for a sweet, little baby quilt!

Sewing Room Happenings!

Luckily I finally found my walking foot tucked away where I was sure I'd find it! Well, finding it easily didn't work...but while looking for sewing machine needles there it was. Now I need to get more quilts finished!

My next quilt will be a scrappy spring potato chip block pattern. The fabric will be the panel prints my friend Phyllis gave me. The fabric is already laid out and waiting for me. πŸ€—

I have some fun ideas but am torn about which size block to use. The 'usual' 2.5 x 4.5-inch works well but it's so small. Though the next size up to a 3.5 x 6.5-inch seems too big for the prints in this fabric collection. I might try a 3 x 5.5-inch which I've never tried before. I'll do some samples and see how they turn out. Do you have a favorite size you prefer using?

Beyond that, I'm looking forward to a quiet evening as I've had a busy week finishing up these two quilts!

Thanks so much for following along. Have a great weekend!

Plus it's a great way to get back into these 'addictive' quilts. I know I can never make just one! πŸ˜‚ My initial thought for this tutorial was to use an ugly fabric I avoid using. But then I found this piece and had to use it! I have a couple other variations that I'm excited to try, so be sure and watch for those. ⭐Subscriber 40% OFF Super-Sized Placemat...

Hi Reader, YAY πŸ₯³ MY WEBSITE IS BACK AND WORKING! Thank you so much for understanding and being so supportive while my website was down these last few weeks. Due to some idiot hacker, my site was totally inoperable! With lots of help, everything is now operating as it should. There are some new articles I still need to add and will let you know when they are posted. To keep my internet-frustration to a minimum, of course I just kept quilting! Here are some new videos you may not have seen yet....

Hi Reader, Wow, it's been a month and it's only the 14th! My website has been a blank white screen for two weeks. More commonly referred to the 'white screen of death'! It was hacked and getting it back in operation has taken some time. But now it's back online...EXCEPT that I can't add any new posts. There are a number of posts for new quilts I've been working on and hopefully I can get them online soon. In the meantime, here's today's video. It's a demonstration/tutorial for the orange peel...
